DIY Light tent

Hi All,

I think a few of you have constructed your own light tents before, I need to do this.

I have NO CLUE about anything DIY... I hate building stuff!!! but luckily my dad (rick) is a builder so I don't have to worry about that. Rick has already built a frame but I was wondering what the best material is to wrap around the frame.

I really want to use whatever material will give the best results, I have read that some people just use sheets etc... but the light tents that you can buy in the camera shops obviously have some other type of material wrapped around them (can you see how little I know about DIY stuf!!!)

Also what is the best way to light the objects? Shoudl I use my studio lights (modeling lights? strobes?) or just get some desk lamps and use globes (I have seen this before as well but have no idea what globes to buy/use).

Oh, and yes, I am ashammed to call myself a man when I know this little about this type of stuff

Help!!!

Andrew

Thanks Keith,

I knew someone here would have already done this :)

Do you still find the garbage bags are ok or is there something more permanent that you could use?

Bunnings have some plastic drop sheets that are perfect for the job. I bought four (so I have plenty in reserve) but only paid $1.50 each!!

Sorry, but to me (and maybe I am being fussy) none of these really produced "professional" looking results, the images posted were pretty average.

I think for a DIY project to be successful you need to have the results to back it up.
