anyone shooting planes at melbourne airport?

i was interested in shooting the out/in bound planes coming into the airport. as i was casing the area a fortnight ago i noticed there was a nikon user with a 70-200afs or a 300afs. wasn't too sure on what lenses except of its curved hood and it was handheld.
if anyone has any good shooting spots or tips and would like to share them, or know this person maybe we can do a terrorists meet and try to shoot planes!

redline, I have only taken photos from the carpark north of the airport right on the flightpath.

As soon as my 70-200VR arrives and I have some wheels I was going to set out to Melbourne Airport on a weekend to get some shots. Might even do a few dawn/dusk shoots. Btw, do the areas get patrolled much by cops checking out if anybody suspicious is checking out flight schedules?

you have no wheel
and the 70-200VR has no rim
the TC-17 has no inner tube

I did have wheels until my company decided I no longer needed them and then bought the boss a new $60k Holden Cross8.

Hello , i have been haunting the area for quite a few years,
the best place's for incoming flight pics are ''the church'' on Bulla road
and ''the golf course'' at the western end,, and then the ''carpark''
at the northern end,,,it all depends on the wind direction, but once you get near the airport you will soon know which way ''they are coming in''
the best spot is the church on bulla road ,, and best times for a varied
subject choice.i.e. internationals, is sat mornings ,early,,,
the church is great as you can get your shot fully side on or three qtr front if you wish,,,,
