Places to print photos in Adelaide

Postby StarForge on Wed Jul 16, 2008 7:20 pm

Hi there, I'm new to these forums so I hope I'm not creating a duplicate discussion here (I did do a search though!).

I've around 600+ photos I'd like to print, but as none of my friends actually print photos I've no idea where is the best place to get this done in Adelaide.

I'm considering Ted's Cameras based solely on their $0.19 per 4x6 if I print over 500 and I buy one of their membership cards.
I was told by a local that there's a chemist downstairs of David Jones that prints for even cheaper, but I do not know what their quality is like.
Harvey Norman have a $0.15 per 4x6 with a max of 200 per customer per day.

I'm of course trying to get the cheapest deal, but I'm really worried about the quality of the prints. Any help would be great, cheers :D

Near the corner of Magill Road and Osmond Terrace/Nelson street.

Hi Michael, its funny you should mention them, I was at the intersection in Magill when I noticed them, then I got home and forgot what their name was haha. Cheers for that!

I just downloaded their price list, I'll have to give them a call and see if they can give me a discount since I'm printing so many.

I'll second Black and White. I have dealt with them for a while, and all postal. Never seen the place.
They do a very nice job

Awesome, that's two thumbs up for B&W! At the moment it looks like it'll be quite pricey for me to print 600+ @ 30c each, but I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

Does anyone else have any recommendations?

HI there StarForge,
600 x .15 = $90 vs 600 x .30 = $180 The difference is not really a bank breaker when you consider it's 600 prints. But I would suggest just get 10 prints done at each of Ted's, Harvey Norman and B&W and your decision becomes clear. Then get the remaining 570 done where you think you get the best value and post your choice back on this thread to let us know.

Now that's a good option, can't believe I didn't even consider it heh. I'm getting a photobook made at the same time along with other purchases so I'm trying to cut costs wherever I can :D
