Hi all,

I have the above and would like to know if anyone uses one and can offer some advise.

Havent used it properly yet but did some messin with it and have come to the conlusion it doesnt like my,

Nikor 55-200
Sigma 70-300
Both with focus motor.

With these two lens's it has some focus problems and with the sigma i only get a coule of shots and get a battery fail warning.

I put it on my Tamron 90 macro and it worked like a charm.

Using it with my D80.

I have come to the conclusion that it doesnt like the lens's with inbuilt focus motors, could this be posable ?

Possible, I know one didn't work with a Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 too. I have the Sigma 1.4x TC and have had no dramas with the 120-300...

only use Sigma TC's with Sigma Lens........ Nikon TC's with nikon lens........

now....... the Kenko will work with most Nikon glass but not all. I have one and only today I have done some tests using it with my 80-200 2.8 ageing lens........ images are tact sharp, you will have to take my word, as smugmug was down when I went to down load, too late now........ I am an old man and should be in bed

At least it works on one lens and wasnt a total waste of money.

With any TC on Nikon glass, you do need to read the spec sheets first. Certain TCs will only work with certain glass, and that is by design.

While the Kenko TC may have a slighlt broader applicability than the Nikon equivalent, it's still not one size fits all solution.

Ask Kiwi he has some very good results with the Kenko I believe on a 70-200Vr.

Not my best pix but, it was a quick test....... this was shot about 1 1/2 mtr from said subject, the closer I got the further around the shrub he got........ this was shot at 1000th@5.6 and I was in close, not sure how the TC will perform with any distance as yet........

Well that certainly works well, nice and sharp.

It seems like i may need to get different Tc's for different lens's.

Get the lenses that you need. Will be lighter on your shoulder, and in the longer term, it will be lighter on your wallet, with better results.

Just started, this was the first game I did with 70-200VR. I also used Kenko on older 80-200 AF-S but it dod not work on either of my Sigma HSM Zooms.

But, it looks sharp to me



I really cant tell shots used with the Kenko on or off wither on the 70-200 or the 300. I have not tried using TC and VR

and again....... kenko TC's DO NOT work on SIGMA LENS
