Asuka book pros! I am designing my first asuka book. I am most comfortable designing in indesign....and was advised to export as jpg then import into psd file template that I have downloaded.
I noticed my jpgs appear over saturated in colour if I do it that way. I then tried writing a postscript file - and the colours remained more true......however - I am getting rather lost in the colour management side of things.

Is there anyone else out there who designs their coffee table books in indesign? If so - would love some feed back and guidance. I am preparing a wedding album of 80 pages.

I haven't used Asuka, but I've just been preparing files for a Blurb book. Rather than using their layout software (which wants sRGB images) to also layout my text/etc, I've always used InDesign for my books. For Lulu I simply export as PDF, but for Blurb the routine I have is:

• Export InDesign book as PDF. In Color Management section of export, convert images to sRGB or AdobeRGB. Certainly don't convert them to a CMYK space as per the default.
  
• In Photoshop, change default RGB colourspace to sRGB (in your case: whatever colourspace the PSD template is in).
  Open PDF file in Photoshop (select all appropriate pages), cropping to Media Box, rendering as RGB Color. Photoshop will convert all colour data in PDF to the matching colour in the default RGB space (thus we set the default first). The rendering intent for the conversion is controlled by the default in the Color Settings.
  
• Then save each Photoshop document as PNG or JPEG for importing into layout software. You could instead copy the document into the PSD template.

There's a bit more detail such as setting resolutions/ppi to match the final page size, but those are the important colour bits.

My apologies for not replying to your response earlier....never been on a forum before and got a bit lost! I have to say my Asuka book has been printed and delivered, and the recipient is thrilled. ( I was reluctant to part with it too!)

Next time round I will take a look at how you suggest. At the time I stuck to my method of ps files and the results were superb, though the process was a bit slow. Well, it was my first and I was not taking any chances. Thanks again.
