Oh my ain't she a heavy thing. Well there was sod all to shoot at 7.45pm in my garden. All the birds were chirping away but doing a very good job not to be seen. And the one that I did have a clear shot of didn't have much light falling on him so he was like a silouette. Anyway I ended up shooting my mums snail plant. Turned out pretty good I think
Btw, my teleconvertor wasn't used for this shot.

Yes, I noticed when I was shooting.
I thought it smelled of smoke

Sure Poon didn't send some of his guys over to B&H and robbed them, then set fire to make it look like they've all gone up in smoke

If it happens you are in the uSA, Nikon USA will service it for you
Now it's time for you to find the way to replace the lens foot (LCF10) and sneak in a G1325, a BH55-Pro, L plate for the D70, more works to do

What sort of time frame for the G1325. Sort of want to know if I want it by day X, then I have to order it by day Y.

Order 'RRS - BH-55 Pro' today as 6-8 weeks availability. So order Gitzo G1325 seven weeks from today, and all should arrive around the same time. A decision needs to be made today or tomorrow. Timing is everything, as you well know from your experience with the 70-200VR saga.

The Markins 20 is the first baby of the BH55 Pro. (Next size down)

My 'Markins M-20' has steam coming out from it, with your comment , looks just fine on my 'Gitzo G1327'. BTW: my 'Markins TB-30' is in the air as we speak, should be delivered to work next Tuesday/Wednesday .

Hmmmm. So would the Markins M-20 be available a lot sooner then an RSS BH-55Pro? Probably should of ordered this stuff a lot sooner

The Markins can be ordered anytime and it's cheaper than the Bh-55 Pro, but please don't regret!

Yes Birdy, but the issue I have is that the RSS BH55PRO is going to be 6-8 weeks away, while I plan going away soon so I'll need it quick smart

I guess I could always buy Markin M-20, use it and then sell it straight away and hope for little loss on it. Then order the BH55PRO once sold.

Listen, it's a long list of setup:
Tripod, Head, L plate, LCF10, you need all these prior to use them.

Handholding with VR lens

Lots of places, lots of panos. There are quite a few spots I'd like to get panos of.

Tower Hill, maybe Ladybay or whatever it's called, and quite a few down at Port Fairy.

I'm curious to know why that 800px wide image is over 300 kB in size. JPEG quality setting perhaps?
There's not much point in resizing to 800x533 if you're going to use 100% JPEG quality. It's not as if it's going to be printed.

Dumped them staight to JPEG from NC. Didn't even see a quality setting while doing so. Must of missed it.
