Anyone know if you are allowed to take cameras into AFL games?

Don't know about AFL, but NRL don't seem to have a problem - have taken my 70-300G lens a couple of times.
They may look twice at anything bigger or more exotic though :(

Seem to remember that Colonial Stadium (or whatever it may be called now) are pretty anal about cameras. And Manaka in Canberra have signs saying no video, but nothing about still photog.
Used to take the old Minolta into the SCG for a couple of games - no problems there either, but that was quite a few years ago.

Not much help, but may give you an idea :)

I tried to take a camera into the an AFL game at the MCG but was not allowed, nor at the channel seven owned colon-ial stadium for an NRL game and IIRC the Syd Football stadium does not permit cameras to NRL either. However it would be best to ring the ground and find out for sure as it might have been just for specific high profile games and not boring ones like Wests V Souths or The Bulldogs V The Crows.

It's fine to take your camera and any focal length lens into the Gabba.
