HkSuppliesHi to all . I picked up a tokina 12-24 from HKSupplies in HK .Very good communication with a lady named Fiona .She emailed me promptly . I bought it direct rather than ebay to save a few bucks because he saves from not listing it on ebay . Only got charged a few bucks at the border $21. They seem very good to deal with as I could not get one of these lenses for months here in Canada and I work in a camera store . Just wanted to pass this along if anyone has doubts . I think I ordered it on Mon 25th ,it was in Quebec , Canada on Friday Aug 29th and it never moved with labor day weekend . I got it Wed Sept 3rd . Thanks to Fiona and Mr. Poon
Re: HkSuppliesAlways fantastic service & prices from Poon.

Re: HkSuppliesHow does one become a "Members Only" to HKSUPPLIES or do you just mean a member to this forum ? And you right I am a newbie here with few posts. Hey, one must start somewhere . I just needed a lens and couldn't get one in my country. So I followed the advice of this forum and I am thankful to all .
Thanks
Re: HkSuppliesphotomann36, you might like to read the FAQ as there is a link to it on top of the main page for dslr. There will all the info you need about the site and the Bargains section which is availabe to members that have neem here for about a month and made 50 post to forum, then you can access the bargains, which is the deals we get from Poon as many of us have been dealing with him for years.

Re: HkSuppliesI think the bargain prices only apply for Australian residents
Re: HkSupplies
Well, the prices are in Pacific Pesos, but I'm sure that we can do something for our OS members. We certainly have in the past. g.

Re: HkSuppliesJust a silly question. Is there a minimum price per order? Obviously they have to cover cost. I've bought some equipment from HK Supplies and like you I had very good service, but what I want to buy is only $15 0r $20.
Re: HkSuppliesi've noticed lately that ECS in particualr has really taken on grey market in pricing. poon's prices, (and any grey), for the first time since i can remember are not as attractive as they used to be.
d700: $3575 vs $3499 sb900: $615 vs $645 105VR: $1070 vs $1025 70-200VR: $2395 vs $2355 d90: $1385 i dunno whats changed their atitude, maybe grey is really biting them in the ass but thats very good for genuine NA product. Re: HkSuppliesIve dealt a little with HKsupplies, and the service is second to none. I recently found that 'edigi' is slightly cheaper; heres the link: http://stores.ebay.com.au/Edigi-HK BTW - ECS has MB-D200 for $195, I think batteries included!
Re: HkSupplies
No.
It's not so much a change in attitude, I think, but more or less the current economic climate. I suspect that the last few shipments NA received were when the PP was at around US$0.96, and that makes for very attractive local pricing. NA can hold stock brought in at that price while, in the last few weeks, the PP has dropped to US$0.81. That represents a significant chunk of change when pricing for items bought here has to be based on current forex rates, and thus Poon's - and anyone else's - prices must suffer as a result. With the current state of the PP, it may well make sense to buy locally if the price differential isn;t all that great, provided, of course that local stock for what you're buying is readily available. But of course there's a downside: if the PP doesn;t go back up in the next couple of weeks, local stock should also go up in price as they get newer stock purchased at current rates, and thus the price relativities will return to something more typical of what we've seen. The bottom line for that is that if you want to buy local stock at a good price, now is probably as good a time as any, and a better time than most. g.
