Jim,

Search the site for some info. There was a discussion recenty. I have one for my d300 and will try in on the d700 shortly (hopefull tomorrow).

It fit fine and works as described. I would say if feels a little plasticy not solid, with the selectector joystick feels a bit cheap. The shutter release feels great and it make the cam feel a whole lot better( for me).

The tripod mount does not instill confidance and flexes. BUt is fine with say the 18-200/50mm size lens and anything bigger and I use a lens mount.I find also that I am having to constantly keep tightening the attachment to the camera.

The battary car charger is a good selling point.

I know its not the Nikon MB-D10 but its 3-4x cheaper and well worth the investment. If I come accross a cheap second hand mb-D10 I probably would swap it but it would have to be cheap.

I have the genuine Nikon grip on my D700 and it does have a good solid feel about it. Sometimes, I just think it is beneficial to have the genuine accessory, and this I think is one that is worth the extra money.

:agree:
got mine from Mike (Teds -Pitt St) - & I have used it extensively over the last week - solid, reliable and adds balance to set up (not to mention a bit of weight!!)
Oz warranty is worth the extra I feel

cheers
