Just wondering if anyone has bought any of the books out there regarding posing in a studio . I'm interested in a good book with many pictures and explanations for the particular poses used . I am ok with the lighting part . My space is limited and I have a AB 400 with some older medalight strobes and a 5 in one reflector which works nicely. Advice is appreciated . Thanks

Seriously, what will you be posing for? How many people will you be posing? And many more questions that are unlikely to be answered in a book (note the singular). If you are posing a family for a photo for the grandparents at Christmas, your posing will (I hope) be very different to a model's poses for Penthouse.

You will probably find your best bet is to study the images that will influence you - if you are doing family portraits, google (yes, I know it isn't a verb and shouldn't be used as such) a bunch of sites of photographers you like. If you are doing glamour, get a bunch of glamour magazines.

I am talking about 1 or 2 people in a small studio setting and you are probably right about googling to check out some picture posted there . I was looking at some Amherst books (amazon.com) that may explain why certain poses are chosen for certain subjects . I bought Monte Zucker's handbook months ago and it is good but I want to know why certain people are posed differently . Has anyone tried any of those Amherst Books on posing ? I will certainly check out some sites and get the poses I want and try to duplicate them .Thanks
