It's a Swarovski scope made in Austria, (I think). It's about 800mm on a 35mm camera which is about 1200mm on a D70. I have used it with a 2x convertor and with 2 2x convertors. With the convertors if you look throught the viewfinder on a calm day you can see the image trembling. Have to throw a heavey coat or blanket over the lens to settle it down. The other problem I have with it is that on a hot day the heat haze is so bad that it is very destructive to the resolution. Have to shoot early in the morning or late in the afternoon. I can shoot bridgewalkers from Bluespoint and get good ID pics. The lens is waterproof down to 8 mtrs and has a lifetime guarantee. Costs about $3000. Image quality is acceptable if you are looking for information only. Has a fixed f/stop of something like f/8 or f/11.

Matt,
It's a very nice and old lens, I don't think it's still exist in the market today. It's so loooooong isn't it? and can be a collectible items.

does anyone know that Russia is the main supplier of the glass for Nikon, Canon, etc.. to manufacture their lenses.
