Display Settings

I give up, the new display settings are giving me the S#!%$ I am obviously missing a setting under Board preferences.

Every time I open a thread It auto opens on the last message posted which means if it's a thread I have to seen, I have to scroll to the top to view the photos posted.

How do I set it up to open on the initial post not last post?

Cheers
Bruce

This may be more of a usage issue rather than a board settings one.

Try to play with how you use the system, based upon how I try to describe this.

From the portal page, in the rh column, you will see your avatar in your profile box. The first link below your avatar tells you how many new posts have been made since your last visit. So I understand it. :)

Click on that link, and that will take you the list of the threads containing those new posts.

Now, caveat one is that these are threads, so you may have read some of the posts, but not all of them.

To go to the first post in any thread, click on the thread's subject line.

In the rh column of the same screen, for each listed thread, you will see the name of the most recent poster to that thread, and adjacent to that there is a small icon, sort of like a notepad. If you click on that icon, you should be taken to the most recent post within that thread.

HTH.

I normally use search.php?search_id=newposts . If I click on the subject of the thread, I get the thread from the start. If I click on the orange icon to the right of the subject, I get the first unread post (well, I would if the image shenanigans didn't stuff it up).

However, if I go to "Recent Topics", clicking on the subject takes me to the last post (I mean the last reply, not the tune played on ANZAC day).
