Since I'm fairly new in posting I can't add to the current D700 Cake thread. Here is my cake from last weekend I got for my birthday. A local shop (Wollongong) made it from pictures my wife gave them from the web.

I believe that the lens's focus and zoom rings are a bit sticky.
Yes, this seems to be a way better cake than the others. Seems as if you've had your cake, and eaten it too.

Thanks for all of the great comments.
On the night we didn't cut the cake, we had cup cakes for everyone. It took almost a week to cut it and I made sure that I got heaps of pics . The cake is now in the freezer??

Haha that's great! And I was wondering why you didn't go crazy and a D3x cake or maybe a 1Ds Mk3 cake or something haha.

I agree: the best camera cake I've ever seen. Were all the details edible (like the hot shoe)?

Isn't 12 a little young to be married?

I think that if you assign ten years for every candle, you will be just a little short of the mark.

Latch, all of the cake was edible including the hot shoe and the reflective stuff on the lens and rear screen.

A great effort by the cake maker. They tell me that making cakes with this amount of detail is not easy.
