Removing watermark

Postby ozimax on Wed Jun 17, 2009 3:20 pm

Can anyone suggest what I may be able to use to remove an ink (blue) watermark from a 1940s sepia photo? (I want to reproduce a wedding photo for my in-law's 60th anniversary etc and we can't find the original print). Alcohol? Vinegar?
(It is too large a watermark to have it digitally removed.)

Many thanks in advance,

Ozi.
