i have a 1280x1024 screen at home (an older 17") and i have two blank bars on either side, so I guess Chris was thinking that the screen stretched across the whole width of his screen. The Portal page is wider at the moment thanks to the pictures in the announcements box!

The portal page has a couple of piccies on it, which has caused this to happen on that page only.
