There are of course a few custom functions to tweak the AF behaviour, so we'll see how this develops.

Yep.

My first inclination is that the problem is likely to be user error. I find it very amusing how people can so readily blame their gear.

But then we can't blame people for being suspicious of the Canon AF.

That was an interesting read....any takers for an explanation other than he has a dodgy 7D that may (hopefully for Canon's sake) be an anomaly? BTW was it just me or were some of those "keepers" posted not all that sharp??

i bet a shitload of nikon execs bought 7D's and started posting crap, OOF shots on forums.
