Hi Guys,

This is my first post and unfortunately it is bad news but am hoping some of you DSLR uses out there may be able to assist me.

I need your help if at all possible. Please see below:

ALERT: My Nikon D300 Camera (Serial No: 6053503) and 18 - 70 Nikon Lens were stolen last Saturday night (10/10/09) from a bar in Melbourne city. If any of you now knows someone with this camera or is offered this camera, or you see it for sale in a shop, Ebay, Trading Post etc please let me know asap on 0412 222 037.

Please pass this around to your network of friends who may be interested in photography, cameras or work in any shops that may sell/purchase 2nd Hand Items..

Thanks in advance.

Rob,

I'm sorry to hear of this loss.

Have you informed Nikon of the event? They should be informed, in case somebody, at some point, decides to have the camera serviced?

I presume that you've informed the local constabulary; what about your insurance?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your response.

Yep have reported it to the police.

Unfortunately my insurance was not up to date and will only cover $900.00 which isn't even close to it's value.

At this point I just cannot afford the difference in $, took me 2 years to save for it.

I've just learnt a very expensive lesson about insurance!

I have emailed many of the 2nd hand camera dealers in Melbourne and also some forums to help spread the word.

I haven't let Nikon know, do you have a contact for them?

Kind Regards,

Rob
