Wow! Thank you very much dviv, fascinating reading.
I thought most of that supposed ruggedness was just
marketing hype and I always been very careful with
the camera in rain/snow conditions. That reading
made me think I have to change my habits and be
more brave with the camera and lenses.

Real interesting read, Obvious was spotted though, dropping a 7D in saltwater is obviously going to kill the camera, though survival compared to a III or a IV seems obvious as well.
