Not sure if this is already been advertised but a prof. photog friend just emailed me, probably to sink the boot in to me for not waiting. You see I just purchased my D700(should arrive from digidirect Friday) and he had warned me to wait but i am happy with my decision as a wanted high ISO ability rather than more pixel(Res) :D . Anyhow for those interested here is the site with the so called leaked Nikon roadmap :?:

If anything it makes for interesting reading. :) Actually it seems strange there is no D700s on the horizon according to this. :?

Marco

The roadmap is dated July 2009. It includes a D3000 and a 17-65 lens to have been released last August & a D700x, 24-135 lens and 35 1.4 to be released last October. None of these happened. It did contain a D300s and a 70-200 VR II lens. Not a good batting average for a legit leak

You are always on the ball Peter. :) Yeah I saw that but sometimes even the best laid roadmaps need to be re-drawn because of inclement 'weather'
But i do agree the other thing that places a big q mark on it is the rather strange new lens configurations in many of the cases listed? :?
cheers

Actually, the D3000 was announced here on July 30, in the same press release as the D300s and the new 70-200.

And we had one for review a couple of months back. its guide mode is very good, and shows you the way to manual control, explaining the settings available and why you'd use them, within a practical, shoot now environment.

And this roadmap was also covered here around the time it was initially leaked.
