I have been asked by someone doing a project about blue eyes to make close-ups of people's eyes. Any opinion and advice as to what type of lense is more appropriate would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Gerard

And of course you can also crop the eye out of a slightly larger image which you may already have lying around.

I cropped images from the 70-200. This gives pretty good results but I would like to be able to focus in a closer range. Maybe a macro like Birddog says...
Thanks,
Gerard

If you want a really good image then a macro would definately be the way to go.

A micro lens from 60-105mm maximum! the 70-200 can do it but it's not as good as the micro lens, the 60mm is little bit short IMHO.
