Have a large room with aging floorboards?

Postby dawesy on Tue Jan 05, 2010 2:47 pm

A friend of mine and I have come up with an idea for a photo I'd love to try and make and I am looking for a suitable location. Basically I need a decent sized room, large enough I can have my camera and lights at one end, a couple of models a few metres in front and few metres of space behind them to allow the light to drop off so I don't get the back wall. The floor need to be ideally aging floorboards, reminiscent of an old stage.

Obvious candidates would be an old stage, obviously, or a scout/function hall but I have access to neither and no budget whatsoever! This is purely for fun. A large room in a home or even an outdoor deck could also work, but decks tend to have excessive space between the boards.

While I'm at it, a red leather footrest, studded if at all possible, would also be helpful as I have yet to track one down either.

Cheers for any tips!

EDIT: I meant to add, as I said I have no budget here so looking for accessible places I haven't thought of or someone generous. Perhaps we can come up with some kind of trade if you have a location, depending on if I can offer you anything you want! I do IT, photos and I'm good for picking up heavy objects and reaching high shelves, at least mum reckons that's the only reason she had me

Anyway, any and all ideas welcomed and appreciated!
