Hi all,I've done a little browsing here and it seems like you are a pretty good lot to hang out with.
With help from Mic and some of the board moderators, I'm now able to post messages, in spite of my shortcomings in computer operations. So, I'd like to take a moment to thank them for their efforts. Now for a quick introduction. I'm a Yankee, currently living in the Detroit, MI area. I've had a d70 since March 18, 2004 and have had a great deal of fun with it. So, today is my 1st anniversary with the d70. I'm an active member of the d70 forum on dpreview, which also has a lot of good people in it. I'm looking forward to participation on this board and hope that I can learn a few things and share my passion and joy in photography. Here's one of my favorite shots, taken on April 10, 2004, shot number 154. Nikon D70 ,Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO IF
Hi Kerry,
Welcome, Great 1st shot to start out here with. I' sure everybody will make you most welcome here. Keep em coming Your Mate Mic.
Kerry - welcome to D70Users.com.
We are a friendly bunch of people, and share some warped sense of humour from time to time . Enjoyed you first shots, so keep them coming together with any question/s. Just remember there are no silly questions. If you do not understand something ie hardware or software, send in a post and an answer is sure to follow. Cheers, fozzie

Thanks, guysI appreciate the welcome.
I realized, after I'd started the initial post, that I had to renew my info in my profile, so that's been taken care of. Anything else you guys see that I need to do or not do, please let me know. my gallery of so-so photos

Re: Hi all,
Hi Kerry, Happy Anniversary, you are definitely an early adopter with the D70! Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll like it here. Cheers What's another word for "thesaurus"?
Hi Kerry - I think I recall you and your superb images from 'that other forum'. You'll find we are much more civilised here (or cilivized as you're used to spelling it), so welcome to the forums and hope you can stay.
You'll have to forgive our proper english spellings and quirky downunder sense of humour. North Americans are in the minority here.
Welcome Kerry Nice pix of the dogs ....... did you use a long lens....

Kerry it has just dawned on me who you are I have been investigating the 70-200 for a while now and it was your photographs plus those of Stan Birge on pbase that I was most impressed by. I use both the Sigma 12-24mm and the 105mm macro and have been very impressed by both. I am sure we will converse more in future days

Birddog114,
No I do not want to swap. I am interested in what other people order and I respective them for their selection. I must admit though, I admire Chris's work. It is not always the equipment you have, but the way in which you use it. ta ta for now, fozzie

Chris & everyone, It is was for this reason I contacted Kerry to visit us and to share her craft. I always thought she had a style that would suit us in this Forum. I hope she enjoys her stay & both Kerry & us benefit from the experience. Cheers, Mic.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the very kind comment. I like the Sigma lenses. They aren't "the best", but the EX series is very good, IMO and usually very economical in comparison to "the best". I put about 450 shots on the 70-200 today, at a dog show, shooting existing light, hand held, at f/2.8, ISO 1600. That's a low percentage proposition, but I was pleased to get more keepers than I anticipated. I'll post a pic in another thread. my gallery of so-so photos

Hi Mic, Yes, I think I'll like it here as well. Learning is something I enjoy, which is a good thing, cuz I still have much to learn. The Avatar is one of my self-portraits, sanitized so as not to scare the women and children. my gallery of so-so photos
