Did you notice that the bidder had No feedback recorded from previous EBay transactions ?
I'm just wondering if it could have been a bidding troll.

Or an astute Nikonian who recognises the value of something that is no longer made. This is a made in Japan unit. Arguably different from the current made in China units. Those differences are open to interpretation (especially of their significance to image quality, QC, etc), however it should be noted that one can no longer acquire a made in Japan 50/1.8 today.

The last stock I got were all made in Japan, if the next ones are made in Japan so price will be matched am I? :lol:

huynhie, most people forget the mf lenses, but I think the 1.2 is still made in Japan

My 1.8 is made in Japan :)
