venturing outside Adelaide

Postby wendellt on Wed Feb 24, 2010 1:03 am

Hi Adelaidians (if that's such a word)

my assignment days for fringe festival are coming to a close end and im going to be here for another 2 weeks
so what's to do in adelaide or outside the city walls

apart from

1. Adelaide Festival
2. Adelaide Street Theatre Festival
3. Seeing the Pandas
4. seeing the Seals at Kangaroo Island

I've pretty much negotiated my way throughout the cbd and shot every heritage building

thanks in advance you guys and gals are the Kats Pyjamas!

Hi Wendell,

Try the wineries in the southern vales, and of course there's the Barossa.

Glenelg Beach is worth a visit, and just a short tram ride from the CBD.

Further afield, there's Mt Gambier and the fleurieu peninsula.

Lots of photo ops in each of those regions.

Or you could just trek into the centre, to Alice and Uluru, and grab some sunsets of the rock.

Hi,
well the friendly locals have been trying to catch up on a couple of occassions we just need to nail you to the same spot for 10 minuites - by 11 last night were were considering 'Where's Wendellt Posters" or "REWARD _ Have you seen this man" T Shirts (and yes we would wear them) ...but realized none of us knew who were were looking for in the crowd and I got tired of chatting up every one with a Nikon ..

There will be a few getting together again tomorrow (Thursday) night at 6 meeting at Gelatissimo, 280 Rundle St (50 m from the Fringe Garden) and as you have a couple of our numbers can only suggest you set a time and place you can make it and we will do what we can to catch up.

Certainly lots to do on Kangaroo Island and the sea lions are great, especially close to sunset if you can plan to be there around that time, see: http://leaveonlyfootprints.wordpress.co ... -sea-lion/

lots of great photo ops all around KI, the Remarkables are beautiful, Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, lots of great seascapes such as Vivonne Bay, Pennington Bay is fabulous.

Maclaren Vale is a very nice wine region. If you drive to KI, on the way is Willunga and on a Saturday, Willunga has some great farmers markets.

And if you get to the northern part of the Flinders Ranges, around the Arkarolla area, sights are magnificent. Colours, sunrise and sunset, and the possibility of shooting a few of the locals. you couldn't lose. But, you must allow plenty of time.
