Nikon 24mm 1.4 lens

Has anyone tried the new Nikon 24mm 1.4 lens yet? I have a night shoot coming up and this would come in very handy.

Any advice on quality, price and where to get one would be welcomed . I'd hire one but can't find a store that hires them out.

not due in Oz till mid april, price is $2695. grey might be a bit cheaper.

Damn, that's what I thought. There are a few stores advertising it but they all seem to be grey.

Actually, I think Vanbar have it on special at the moment. I'll have to give them a ring to see if they have stock.

let us know if you do find one, i cant imagine how any Oz retailer would have stock yet.

incidentally, all reports i've read put this lens at a very high level; build wise and IQ. sure looks like a game changer to me.

I am avoiding looking at this lens....bank breaker for me!!

IF I do chance upon one I will let you all know what I think...maybe my boss will want to put another pro lens in the shop
