Panasonic 4/3rds HD video camera

Postby chrisk on Wed Apr 14, 2010 9:42 am

this is an interesting development. eventually this will trickle down to smaller consumer models you;d think. which is great for us ! personally i would have thought canon would have been the first to do something like this. panasonic are not fooling around. kudos to them.

Looks like the video game is changing...I wonder what the price tag will be...and will canon follow suite with a full frame video camera taking EF lenses....

At the same event (NAB) Sony have shown a prototype of a video camera that takes Alpha(Minolta) lenses and apparently has a full-frame 35mm sensor.
They said it's due to be released within 12 months, so Canon has a little bit of time to get something out but they are being shown up a bit at the moment.

Is it just me, or is that a Computer rendered CAD image?
I am thinking maybe its vapourware.

Everything is vaporware until its in the shops.

I wonder what the RED people think of these sudden incursions on their patch...

It's always amusing listening to a marketing/management suit try to talk technical. :)

Did you know that these cameras can use 64 gigabit xD cards? I'm sure he meant to say 64 gigabyte SDXC cards! Overall he didn't do a bad job though.

Yea, I noticed he forgot to put his brain into gear a few times. When he was showing the stereo camcorder, he said it had 1/4 inch chips, then a little later he said it had 1/3 inch chips. He's a pro though, didn't falter. :)

Gear looks good.
