Image Dust OffDoes anyone use the Image Dust off REF image function???
I was just reading on how to use it and wondered if it worked well? W00DY Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
I'm a believer that it's either buggy in Capture or instructions were not written correctly (eg. same as removing battery door from SB800). PS clone tool does it for me. But I still prefer to address the problem rather than fix the symptoms.
Agreed it is better to clean your sensor frequently. I just have about 50 images that I want to fix up and they all have the same dust spots, so I thought I might have been able to save the cloning step Andrew

I think Onyx is write and it is buggy. I tried using it today with Capture 4.2 and it didn't seem to work straight off. I noticed that capture was looking for a *.NDF file, however when I took the dust ref photo it saved as a normal *.NEF file, so I renamed that dust ref .NEF file to a *.NDF file and it seemed to work.
Dunno how well this works, I was just checking how much dust I've got on the CCD... Turns out I've got a bit, but thankfully it doesn't seem to show up on most pix. I've been delaying cleaning the CCD. Hopefully, someone will give us a demo at the next Melbourne meet to give me enough courage to tackle it. I don't think cleaning it successfully would be too difficult, but by the same token, I don't think stuffing up would be too difficult either. Till next time... Regards Keith
