Don't want to hear any complaints!

Postby radar on Wed Jul 14, 2010 10:21 am

Okay,

one always hears of not having the right gear to do the shoot, if only I had a D3X, 1DsIII, etc. Watch the video below, it's good fun but also goes to show that it is not always the camera.

Enjoy,

Hi André,

While they're certainly using the iPhone for the images, there's a pro model, hair stylist, makeup artist, full bank of pro lights etc. I suspect that that gear may have helped things along just a little.

But as you say, it's certainly a fun exercise.

Sure, plenty of extras apart for the iphone and that certainly helps but in the end, some of those extras could also be replaced by DIY gear for the innovative mind, plenty of these on here. Not as easy for a DIY model :|

To my mind shooting with an iPhone is just a wee bit like masturbation. It does the job but not like the real thing

Hmm. I'd like to see them do this with DIY gear. It's just that when you need it for the second time, the DIY gear would have disintergrated forcing you to do a DIY project each time before a shoot.

Anyhow this illustrates the point that the light is more important than camera.

I found this the other week, and then continued to watch a few more hours worth of behind the scense shoots it was really interesting and at times inspirational, at other times it just made me a little envious and sad I don't have the time (and over resources to pull of some of the stuff). (I don't even have an iphone :( :( )

I have an iphone and some lights now I just need to get THAT model.
It was interesting to see how the edges of the lights and stands were in the shots and pp out later. The benefit of a smooth plain background.

Very nice....does certainly prove that the person behind the camera and the right light can go a long way

I am sure the cameras in other phones will do just as well...if not better!
