Since there are quite a number of you chaps out there with these filters, or other branded ones I thought appropriate to post this query, note, I have read teh Lee website FAQs and they basically state to treat the filters like normal optics and clean appropriately.

I am getting into teh habit of cleaning my gear after any encounter with the ocean, usually I just give the body and lens a good wipe over with a damp towel and let it air for awhile, the filters including my screw on ones get a quick shower with tiny a bit of washing liquid, this seems to get them very nice and clean and a prompt drying over the de-humidifier and they are sparkly new again - also a buff with a lens cloth for the areas that have some residue from the water.

What process do others use? do you use lens cleaning fluid on resin filters??

I have never really used anything other than condensation and a microfibre cloth on my Cokin filters

I only have cokin (clones), Hitech and a hoya CPL.

I use cleaning solution (spray) and micro-fibre X2 to clean while on the field.

Once I get home, I rinse them in water to clean using another micro fibre cloth.

Damp cloth for the camera, lens exterior.

My Lee filters are cleaned with a drop of Johnson's baby shampoo and water.
They come out sparkling clean. - no tears and no knots
Lenses and glass filters are cleaned with fair dinkum lens cleaning solution and lens tissue

I have the Sing-Ray filters which are resin and for casual cleaning I use a bit of hot breath and micro fibre cloth.

For a thorough clean I use those little bottles of spray solution you get from the optometrist for cleaning glasses made of glass or acrylic together with a fine micro fibre cloth.
