A friend of mine just purchased a Sigma EX DG 24-70mm f/2.8 HSM from DWI and to his delight discovered his copy has focus issues.

To his dismay he had never heard of the sample variation that is common in Sigma lenses, nor has he heard of CR Kennedy's approach to the gray market.

However, does anyone know of somewhere where you can get a lens calibrated (other than CRK) in case he cant get things sorted with DWI.

I will ask the techs I use at work, but just in case someone knows someone.

Also, do we know of the current 24-70mm f/2.8 HSM has a known issue like this?

Just googled spiderman's world wide web for you.

So far the only thing i could find is :

CRK - $70 to calibrate, the downside to this lovely price is that yo9u have to send the lens and body to melbourne T_T

that is all so far..

DWI 'uses' a warranty service agent in Australia who I was never able to contact. This was about an year ago. I'd like to know whether your friend has any luck with them.
