canon s90 vs s95

Postby mimimomo117 on Wed Oct 06, 2010 1:40 am

is there any users here of either canon s90 or s95? i am thinking of buying either one for my girlfriend as birthday present but i can't really make up my mind... my girl is a superfans of Canon but she dislikes DSLRs which are too huge and heavy for a tiny her to carry :P my friends told me either of these cameras would be a great present for her!

actually budget is not a big concern to me but the most important thing would be the ease of usage of the camera and one more, my girl loves clubbing (i don't like..) and she wants to take nice pictures without great flash that almost blind everyone's eyes.

if you have a better option please let me know, QUALITY GOES FIRST! thanks :)

This will not help you but to take photos in a nightclub without flash you need a large camera.... Last time I checked it was called a D3S (on ISO 56000) or 1D4 (on ISO 25600) with a 35mm 1.4 lens... ;) [or a 50mm 1.2 although you will have trouble focusing... ]

S90 and the S95 are both incredible cameras. If you're girlfriend doesn't have an itch for blowing up photos big, or HD video, S90 is the way to go. Both are great cameras, one's just been updated to suit the HD requirements of modern cameras.

People will now probably contest yourself and myself by saying the SX210 IS is "just as good" which it is in it's own right, but quality first? then go the S90. SX 210 IS is aimed at a more "traveler's" view. Hope this helps. :)
