Hi,
Is there an alternative to Smugmug ,in Oz, whereby punters can have the choice of buying either the .jpg to download or buy a print which is printed by a third party and mailed? All being done 'auto-magically' without the photographer being involved other than being the recipient of a nice cheque every month?
thks,Nigel

Redbubble I believe is based in Australia - at least in part. Prints from there come from Melbourne

Their default pricing is set at 80% to them, and 20% to the seller

- after this, you can charge whatever you like, their slice of the pie doesn't change. As an example from memory to print a christmas card 5 by 7 costs $2.10 (less if buying in bulk I think), you then add on your 20% making a price of $2.52 ... however you could charge say $3.00, and they would still only take $2.10

Not sure if my figures are exact, but easy enough to check - simply go to redbubble, and look at buying an image and the prices will show up (90% of people don't change the default price structure)

I get to set my own prices - well, I get to set how much I make on each sale. You also have to remember that RedBubble are making the prints, etc. so it's not like they are doing nothing for their cut.
