I think there is some truth to this statement... Happy holidays everyone!

From http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/09/technology/personaltech/09basics.htm

The best photo accessory, said Mr. Hobby, is one that almost everyone has, but forgets to use: an alarm clock. “The best pictures are made by other people when you are still being lazy in bed,” he said. “Things that look ordinary in the bright flat light of noon look magical at dusk and dawn.”

Well, that depends on what you're taking photographs of. Alarm clocks don't count for much when photographing live music.

In that case, the most important photographic accessory is ... ear plugs.

hmmmm I think it is a roll of film or a memory card (whichever is relevant)....without these all this expensive camera equipment is essentially useless

A young hot and eager female assistant

I can't really say because nothing is really attached to my camera apart from the flash
But I'm not too hot on the flash being the best photography accessory

In my world a small compact laptop dedicated to editing and uploading images is the best accessory
But its not really classified as a camera accessory

Possibly the circular polarizer

A decent camera bag is a lifesaver for me, keeps everything tidy and protected and preserves my sanity. I also love using a belt system with lens & camera holders when out and about - so easy to switch lenses, and lovely to have no heavy hot backpack that's awkward to access or a sling bag dragging me to one side and slopping around when I move about. Oh and it's great if it suddenly starts raining on me whilst I'm a long run from the car!

Actually, Murray, I can see the alarm clock as being useful even in gig photography. It can be used to wake you up at, oh,
around 23:00, in time to get to the gig for the second set.

To me, it's still the person behind the camera. The person with the vision to make the image.

Without that, nothing will happen.

Actually there are three “best” photography accessories:

1 An eye

2 A brain

3 A finger

Add them all together with a camera, and hey presto

I think for creativity, my pocketwizards for off camera flash have allowed me to try many new things recently.
