Looking for Pocket Wizard gearHi Folks,
has anyone any suggestions about where the best price in Sydney / Online for Pocket Wizard gear? I'm after the PocketWizard MiniTT1 for Nikon Mini TT1 and the PocketWizard FlexTT5 Transceiver for Nikon. Anyone had any experience with www.t-dimension.com? I tried looking at amazon which had good prices but wouldn't allow me to send to Australia?? I suspect if its got something to do with the radio frequencies?? If I buy online, will the radio frequency settings work / be legal here in Australia? And can anyone tell me if the pocket wizard gear on eBay is legit? Thanks in advance ; )
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearI bought mine from B&H.
While the freqs possibly arent 'legal' I have serious doubts my 3 pocketwizards are going to interfere with anything. With the dolar the way it is just now, purchasing from the US, including postage is a very good option. I havent heard of any knock-off pocket wizards on Ebay, so I guess you should be right. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearThanks - T-Dimensions seem to have the best price going at the moment. Wondering if anyone's had any experience with them?
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearwhat about DD Photographics http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/
or DWI http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au or http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/ they always have great prices gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearThanks biggerry - DD photographics aren't stocking pocket wizards at the moment and neither does DWI. And DCW is more expensive. ECS are cheaper than DCW but still not as cheap as some of the online stores. Thanks for the suggestions though. BTW, here's an interesting thread re frequencies that might interest you - as long as you don't go near any Olympic cauldrons

Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearAlso, checked out these threads - thanks but a couple of them were years old and others a little off topic
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearI would be shopping around online as well if I was you. I have no experience with T-Dimension, but past forum postings have not always been so positive.
I would probably go with the 433mhz CE variant. If you need a cheaper option have a look at the Phottix Atlas Cameron

Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearThanks all for the advice. I ended up going through T-Dimension. Will let you know how it all pans out.......
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gear
from the most recent thread, 2011 May.
Don't take it the wrong way if you did not get a whole stack of replies - one thing to bear in mind is that a person who joins the forum then immediately asks about any one of the low cost online suppliers like DWI or T-dimension is gonna be treated with some skepticism - for me this is due to the some of their advertising/spamming techniques by posting in forums to bolster their 'reputation' by generating positive comments about photographers purchasing experiences. Anyway, do come back and let us know your experience with T-Dimension and the pocket wizards. Last edited by biggerry on Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:03 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearNo worries biggerry, I understand and promise I won't take it to harshly
There's also been some negative comments about T-D as well so trying to weigh up between the pros and cons. Digitalrev also had very competitive prices (not that I'm spamming for them as well - damn all spammers, go to hell) and pricewise it was really a toss up between the two. It was only a matter of a few dollars. Would have preferred to buy locally of course but in the end with the $ doing so well I decided to go online (we're talking a good 25% differential, no matter what offshore site you go with). There are a couple of other tit bits which I'm after which are more competitively priced locally, and which I am planning to buy here. Will let you know how it pans out. cheers
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearAlso check out whirlpool forums. They must have a T-dimension thread.
If you are a spammer, we will know because you will dissappear after this thread and not participate in anything else.
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearCripes!
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearBtw, welcome to the forum.
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearCheers big ears!
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearJust a note to all that I received my PWs today All received in time and working order so wrapped I ordered before the Aussie $ plunged. Without spruiking too much (from fear of being tracked down and dealt with.. .) happy with my dealings with the unmentionable online store!
Re: Looking for Pocket Wizard gearGreat news.
And as regards the Pacific Peso ... timing is everything. g.

Looking for Pocket Wizard gear
Just brought some from B&H myself. I didn't think about the frequency when I brought them. I guess it just means I'll have to buy from the US again if I want to add anymore receivers to the kit.
