Printing my Antarctic photo book

After nearly twelve months I've finally processed the best of the 13,000 plus images from my trip to Antarctica last November. I then took the best images and compiled two photobooks. One for images from the trip from Ushuaia (Argentina) to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula and another for Deception Island (in the South Shetland Islands in the Antarctic Peninsula).

I've previously used Momento and been very happy with the results, but the current exchange rate made a US publisher attractive as well. Having read an incredibly detailed side by side publisher review HERE I decided to go with MyPublisher who had a 60% discount on offer last week. Below are links to the two books (requires Flash Player). When I receive them I'll update this with my thoughts on the quality.

Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctic Peninsula (80 pages, 15" x 11.5", high gloss - delivered cost around $125)

Deception Island (30 pages 15" x 11.5", Matte - delivered cost around $65)

Wow, I've not got a lot of time, but I had a look over the first link to one of your books. Wow is all I can, it looks amazing, you've captured so many amazing scenes. You must be proud! So many images in the book that I just loved looking at, too many to mention individually!! Is all the text your own as well? fantastic is all I can say!! thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Peter,

There's some truly amazing work there: great images, with great composition, and well put together.

Congratulations.

Never mind the top notch photography, the composition of the whole is very impressive.

Cheers

An update on this from me. I sent the files and placed my order 24/10. Today - 8 days later - I received the finished books from the US. So very speedy turnaround. I've previously used Momento Pro and thought they were extremely good, but the quality of these is another level up again. I had high expectations of the quality from reading reviews of MyPublisher and these are BETTER than I was expecting. If I rated Momento Pro as 7/10 I'd give these 9/10. Beautiful high gloss full colour dust jacket, velum paper bound in at start and end of the book, extremely accurate colour rendition and the pages are a much heavier weight at 308gsm than Momento offer for around the same price with the discount coupon I used (these are regularly on offer - at present they have two for the price of one for new signups). Each book came enclosed in a sealed clear plastic wallet (disposable) for added protection.

If you're thinking of doing a photobook I can't recommend these guys too highly.
