D70 Abnormal Behaviour

While I was away on my Easter break I had the D70 once freeze/lockup on me. Pressing the shutter release yielded no results and switching the ON/OFF switch to OFF had no effect - the unit was still ON. The only way to resolve the problem was to remove the battery and place it back into the camera. Now I don't believe this is the first time this has happened, I believe I experienced it once before when I was in the UK. Has anybody else come across this problem before?

An "abnormal" behaviour would be if it locks up all the time. If it happens once in a blue moon I would not be too concerned. What lens did you have on at the time?

Happened once something similar Kipper. Then a couple of weeks later the AFS went and it was in to Maxwells for surgery, so don't know if they were linked.

Kipper,

I have read in other forums that the 70-200 vr does this sometimes.

I think it's due to the extra power requirements.
