64bit Capture NX2 releasedFinally, NX2 v2.3 is out with 64 bit support. Note that if you use CEP with NX2, you will still need to run NX2 in 32-bits . But there are plenty of new bits in this latest version and Nik Software will hopefully have a version out soon for CEP.
http://nikonrumors.com/2011/12/20/nikon ... oday.aspx/ There is also a new version of View NX2. Edit: new version of CEP that supports 64 bits: http://www.niksoftware.com/downloads/us ... w=software cheers, André Last edited by radar on Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: 64bit Capture NX2 released
I dunno whether Nik Soft will bother updating CEP for capture, if you look at the au site and even the international site tracking down CEP for capture is hard and full of broken links. It can be access and purchased in the USA though. However, Nikon did invest in Nik Software in 2006 so I wonder.... Anyway, onto more important things.. CNX 2.3.0 works pretty good from my initial trialling, however further testing will be needed since I did do a complete cleanout of all the software and did a new install. However there is no doubt that even with the 32 bit version there is a marked improvement in the speed of opening files and rendering them. Another important note from my experience, i tried the CEP package from the AU nikon site and that sucessfully broke the program, however installing the international CEP 3.003 worked well from what I can see. Apparently you do need to use the latest version of CEP with CNX2 2.3.0 or else things go pear shaped. There is a good discussion on flickr about the problems and solutions about 2.3.0 and CEP. http://www.flickr.com/groups/capturenx/discuss/72157628495818029/ gerry's photography journey

Re: 64bit Capture NX2 releasedHere is a review from Jason Odell:
http://www.luminescentphoto.com/blog/20 ... nce-review Also, Nik software is not saying they won't get CEP4 for CNX2, the door is open to do the update, they are waiting on Nikon, supposedly. cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Re: 64bit Capture NX2 releasedDownloaded, installed and trialled. Yes is is faster to open and render files, no problems so far but I have played with only a couple of files.
Might check out CEP3. Craig

Re: 64bit Capture NX2 releasedHmm, definitely faster, but I kinda gave up on Capture NX 2 a few months ago and I've been using Lightroom 3, don't think I'll look back, unless Capture NX 3 is something amazing.
