Camera LCD screen capture?

Does anyone know how to take a screen capture of a DSLR LED screen, a 7D in particular, and more specifically, using a Mac? I want to make a really basic quick guide for my daughter and I'd rather do this than photograph the screen or trawl the internet for the appropriate screen images.

Thanks.

That's a damn good question, and I'm not sure if there's any way you can do it ... on the camera.

But you should be able to use the video out port from the camera into a video capture device on your computer, and then just capture the computer screen as you normally would - shift-command-3. Then just crop the image down to what you need.

Alternatively, record the camera's output using a PVR, and again, feed the images you want to your computer and screen capture/crop what you need.'

Thanks Gary, I had originally thought of this as a "work around" but I suspect it is actually the only way to do it. I will have to have a look at the various cables and software options I have.

Cheers.
