Remote Control

Hi all,

Does the remote for the D70 have the ability to send separate signals to open and close the shutter with separate button presses? I'd like to take some photos of the heavens and get very long star trails and this would seem to be the only way to do it without sitting there with my finger on the camera's shutter release button for several hours.

Thanks for any advice.

Ben

Hi Ben,
Yes it does, I've used this mode several times for long night shoots with stars in the background.
From memory just set the D70 to manual mode and select bulb from the shutter dial then select the remote button on your command dial.
Depending on the light pollution you have in your area you might get some noise in the picture, best to select the lowest ISO rating (200)
Good luck. :D

G'day,
After another of our members put me on to it, I just use one of those "learning remotes" previously ear-marked for the DVD player :-)

Get a few interesting comments but does the trick...
