I'd love to see the D800 doing 2x2 pixel binning for 9MP output. That could do wonders for low-light low-noise.

That ISO 800 image looks better than the 60D... Perhaps I need a sensor transplant. :roll:

Pixel binning isn't a new thing since it's what's been used in space telescopes and Phase One digital backs. Having said that, it's good to see that they're experimenting with it in mobile phones.

It's been used in the D1 and D1H as well, which contained 10.8MP sensors, permanently binned 2x2.
