Death of a legend

Horst Faas has died. This is sad news. Faas was a co-editor of ‘REQUIEM’, along with Tim Page. This is one of my most prized photography books.He, like Tim Page, redefined what it was to be a great war photographer. RIP.

I had to do a quick google search, but this name was behind many iconic images, either as a photographer or as an art director/editor

RIP, well respected.

this shot is nothing short of amazing and thats before you even consider the war context.

oh wow. His images were certainly great, and brought the conflict home, for better or worse.

I actually just bought an original print of his with his handwriting on the back from a historical photo business in the U.S. with the typed A.P. wire-photo caption. It accompanied and article on U.S. helicopter forces early in the War when they were still supporting and advisors....
