The Weekend Australian Magazine

I've heard a whisper that the above mag in this Saturdays Sydney Morning Herald may become a collectors item.

Here's a link to the magazine. You'll have to flick through a few images to find Matt's:

Matt, I have said it before regarding your "combat" images: you have definitely channeled Robert Capa in your images. Great stuff.

The real estate poster image by Sally McInerney took the money. It's a beautifully crafted image and certainly fits the theme very well. Thanks for the good wishes and I encourage you all to submit an image or 2 next year. :D :D :D :D

Be that as it may, I think a selection like that also says something about Sydney, which is, after all, very heavily focused on real estate, real estate prices, and the like.

I thought the image on Bondi Beach also had a lot of merit, and was (to me) very reminiscent of Max Dupain's work.

I was a little put off with a couple of the images where the photographers were trying to give themselves a bit of a plug in saying that the image was a part of their latest collection or exhibit. Perhaps yes, but should they also then be included here?

For me it has to be Bunnies on the line. The bunny in the middle has a classic look, which says, “what the f*ck”

Matt, to be more like Capa you have to get them being shot . . .

Gary
The judges made the same comment about the Bondi pic. Also added that the serenity and poise of the tall female added an element to the image. Chris...the bunny picture actually looks much better hung in situ. It is a wonderful image that relies to some extent on the wonderful technical quality of the large print.
