Cheep compact

with a fast lens and reasonable video for an absolute noob.

Any recommendations? I had no idea what to say. Definitely not a candidate for those big sensor wonders as the budget is around $200.

Pretty stiff requirements for that price....Nikon P310 (f/1.8-4.9) are found sub $300 on end of life run out

Suren you could buy half an X10 from Kogan. Buy the left half; it has the lens attached. :biglaugh:

I hate saying this....but you can't go past the canon P&P for cheep shot camera. Canon Ixus 220 is a gem, tried and tested.
