Hi

There is a Sigma 14mm f3.5 on Ebay (UK) at the moment with an hour left, and currently at £81.

Reserve hasn't been met yet, does anyone know anything about these lenses? What are they like and what should they be going for second hand?

Only an hour left so if you do have any info please let me know!

Ta very much

Well, I posted a bid of £120 for the lens, which won the auction, but was below the reserve price.

I've now been given an 'Ebay Second Chance' to buy the lens for £125.

Before I go ahead and spend the money we've saved up for the kids new shoes  , can anyone tell me anything about this lens?

I've searched on google, but nothing much out there on it.

Once again any help appreciated.

CC,
Buy the shoes, make the kids happy! then get your $$$$ back some other way.
I've seen your post this morning, but can't comment due to no link and no pic., perhaps you don't want any competitor.

The lens is not worth at that sign of money and if that's the used one.

Sorry BD, didn't think about putting the link in - was in too much of a rush!

I've got until tomorrow to say yes or no, here's the link

The f2.8 14mm sigma retails at £500+ over here, is this one anything like it?

CC,
That Sig 14/f.3.5 is not a great & famous lens and it's not expensive at 3.5
The Sig. 15/f2.8 can be bought for less than AU$600.00 locally.

CC,
here is a review of that lens. At the end I couldn't really work out if he suggested to buy it or not. Unfortunately your first post was at 3.51am local time so not a good time for replies.

Hi Glen

Thanks for the review, been searching around all over the net and can't find much at all on this one.

The review doesn't have much bad to say about the lens, only that the light does tend to creep into shot, but the in the grey bar on the right he comments that this is reduced greatly on dSLR's due to them not using full frame.

He gives it Reccomended, with 4 out of 5 for Performace, Build and Value, with 3 out of 5 for features.

I'm still torn between taking the plunge, I respect Birddogs advice as he has had and knows more about lenses than I can possibly imagine. But if I could get more or less what I'd paid for the lens if I put it back on Ebay I'd be willing to give it a go.

I've got until 9pm UK time tonight to confirm if I want it at the Second Chance price (thats around 4am OZ time), so if anyone else has any advice/opinions theyd like to share please feel free.

Another brief one for you Charlie, about half way down the page

How much is the Nikon or Sigma 12-24, that would be a good alternative to compare to this lens
