Update - the foto fanatic (Trevor)It has been, and continues to be, some strange sort of a year for me.
My wife's father died in February, my mother died in July. Both suffered from cancer and needed lots of love and care in their final days. Now my wife and I are moving out of our house for at least two months to allow for a renovation that has been a bit too long in the planning. Fortunately for us, some wonderful friends who live quite nearby have invited us to live in their place while they are on an extended European holiday. Special people. However it does mean that I will not be online as much. I won't have my own computer with me and the iPad isn't all that compatible with this site. I am really missing the forum, and it looks like I won't be fully back until October or November. There are a couple of positives though. I am hoping to have time for photography although no real way of posting until I return to my place. Also, we are moving all of our belongings into storage for the duration of the renovation. That means that I will be going through my camera gear and culling to my current photographic circumstances. There may be some bargains on offer... TFF (Trevor)

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Update - the foto fanatic (Trevor)Likewise, please accept my condolences for your lost. You just put the fear in me with the thought of renovation. We are thinking of selling and moving to an apartment. This means that I will have to downsize sometime in the no so long future. It all depends how much we get for this house and what we can find that suits our needs - not easy.
Re: Update - the foto fanatic (Trevor)
I went through the downsizing part about 12 years ago and now I am renovating the apartment I moved to. IfI can offer one tip it is this: be absolutely ruthless with culling things that you no longer need or use. We weren't diligent enough and now we'll have to get rid of stuff that we should have got rid of then. Good luck with your plans! TFF (Trevor)

Re: Update - the foto fanatic (Trevor)All the best Trevor.
After our youngest daughter (we have 4 kids) was married last March, we downsized to a small 2 BR, 1970s villa, which we renovated last year. We were ruthless in downsizing, but still have a little bit more to go. I don't miss any junk. We still have most of the family close by, which is everything. Re: Update - the foto fanatic (Trevor)Guys, thank you for the advice, but it will not be easy.
