I'm sooooo happy !
My D70 is back from repair and allthough I haven't tested
in broad daylight yet, every fault seems to have gone.
Faults:
The onboard flash popped up when needed but wouldn't fire.
A thin red line was appearing in every image.
err would display intermittantly and shutter wouldn't fire.
Action taken by Maxwell:
01 003088 warranty consumables (?)
22 003060 warranty labour (1/4 hour units)
dismantled, repaired and adjusted CCD, built
in flash and winding.
cleaned and checked.
I'm looking forward to shooting again.
Cheers

CD,
Happy to hear you've got it back, just about time for the BBQ meet on Sunday.
Do you still want the eyecup and Giotto Air?

Thanks so much for your kind replies,
Get this, I got home a 17:40, found a notice of attempted delivery in my letter box.
The post office closes at 17:00
I rang them at 17:45 !, they answered and they said that they were going to wait for me to come and pick up the package.
(I'm 10 minutes away from the local post office)
How good is that, they are such a lovely bunch of people, I picked
up a delivery after hours previously.
Yes, I am over the moon that my baby is back, right
in time for the CBR meet and I also don't know
what warranty consumables are.
Great stuff

Christian,
Great news.

On what basis ?
I think it's bloody disgusting. Especially considering the premium we pay in Oz for the privilege of dealing them!
Christian, regarding the post office, that is exceptional. Here in Bondi they close at 17:00.
Sharp.
If you're at the door one second later, tough!
As to getting attempted delivery notices, we get them every so often, but (a) they've never attempted delivery; just stuffed the card into the letterbox, and (b) even though they say the package might be available after 16:00 that same day, it never, ever is.
