Very sad

Postby MHD on Sun Oct 10, 2004 11:58 am

Welll I got kicked out of a bar for the first time in my life on friday night...
Because I was drunken disorderly: no
Because I was damaging property: no
Because I was violent: no

No... I was taking pictures of my mates and then refused to surrender my d70...

Thats right!
Kicked out of a bar for taking photos!

WOW, i've been thrown out for the other reasons but never for taking photos.

What was their reasoning for it? Were you flashing too much? :)

Lamest excuse ever..

No... I know what they thought.,.. they thought I was doing this for money or mabie was a photojourno looking at the seemier underside of pubs...

HA! I wish!

It is a reflection of the society we live in today - personal freedoms mean nothing, one person complains about anything and there is all manner of trouble, there is no tolerance for anything much.

It is a bloody shame and a disgrace.

I suppose this is something we will have to deal with as we have such a nice flashy 'pro-looking' camera.

Still, if anyone was on parole or cheating on his/her wife/husband/dog then that's their problem not the bouncer's. :)

Sad thing is...if you were using a small point & shoot they would have ignored you. At least we have the satisfaction of knowing how ignorent they are! ...I should have kept my Coolpix 5000 just for those occasions.
Next time, use your mobile...the one with the camera built into it. Or buy an 8MP 5700 and pretend you're having a party with some backpackers. The goons will even pose for you.

Hi MHD

At least you escaped with your D70 intact and that is important! :D

and you and your mates can take your business elsewhere - to another, more deserving watering hole!

Anyway, try to behave yourself!!!!! :P *ducks and dodges flying nappie*

Cheers

And that is your problem because ???

The other side of that coin though is - and perhaps this should be pointed out to this bar's management - is tha, if this that sort of place - frequented by parole voilators and the like - is this the reputable sort of bar you should be visiting?

MHD,
Perhaps the bouncer is the one knew you very well! so he heard that you have been banned to drink beer and now you got in the night club, ordered beer over the counter, and he used your camera as a reason to keep you on track, I guess
Lot of bouncer in hotel, clubs, they did not like peolpe using camera inside their clubs but no sign posting of: NO PHOTOGRAPH ALLOWED. Very sad I agreed.

Don't be mad at the club or the bouncer - be mad at the coward who complained, yet don't have to reveal their identity or reasoning for the commplaint.

I once faced 4 squad cars of cops at my local neighbourhood park because I was sitting and talking to a friend. Some "neighbours" freaked we might be planning a break in or something, it's sad that nobody knows who lives next door to them these days.

And that, ladies and gennelmen, is the real issue. We fear - without foundation - what we do not know or understand - and we rarely take the time to make the effort to learn and/or find out.
