Hi all,

Got a bad case of RSI on my wrist, using mice to much for PS.

Just wondering would a tablet be better for me? I have never used one.

Aspirin might help in the first instance.

I use trackballs to get around rsi.

Logitech works for both of us. Leigh uses a wireless one, and I have two similar models for the systems I use most.

I use a gel rest and it works very well

Wacom Tablet is great Takes a bit to get used to but when you do it's superb.

I switched to a Wacom for this exact reason. My wrist would be killing me after 20 minutes at work using a mouse so I went out and bought a tablet.

There is no pain whatsoever, its just so much more natural. Hold a pen in your hand and determine whether that hurts - if not, get a tablet.
I tried the gel pads for a while too, but I still had to arch my wrist to get my hand comfortable around the mouse.

I would say that the tablet will alleviate your problems.

I bought Wacom's inexpensive Graphire tablet and tried it, but was frustrated at never knowing where the pen was going to land on the screen when I put it down on the tablet. I still have it, but it's stuffed away in a drawer for several years. Can you tell me;
Am I using it wrong?
Is that because it's a cheap one?
Is that something that you get use to?
Is it safe to mix alcohol with my Viagra? (okay, just kidding on that one. I don't drink alcohol.)

I've just bought an Intuos 3. Using the pen as a mouse I have the same problem as you describe (I keep clicking just below or above where I want). I'm going to persevere for a week or so to see if I can learn to adjust for the slight position movement as the pen tip approaches the pad to click.

SO far as doing PS work though it's much more flexible than a mouse.

What size is tablet is everyone using. I was thinking about the Intuos3 4x5.

I use the Cordless Optical Trackman... which you'd be pretty hard pressed to find down here in Oz as it's not officially supported by Logitech Australia anymore.

Dad uses the Marble Mouse which can be bought here in Oz for around 30 bucks...

I suggest you try Kensington's array of trackballs as they tend to rock, especially the larger squarer based models.

Microsoft, like most of their mice, are pretty hopeless at trackballs.

Finally decided to get Wacom intuos3 6x8. Where can I get one at a good price?
