Off topic - which MP3 player with fm radio?

Hi all

I'm thinking about purchasing an MP3 player that has fm radio.

Couple of issues for consideration

1. The fm radio needs to have reasonably good signal pickup so it can be used at the Gabba when the Brisbane Lions are playing.
2. The sound quality needs to be quite good at moderate sound loudness (I'm a bit deaf - some of my friends also claim, dumb as well :D )

Does anyone have any make / model recommendations or any make / model that would be unsuitable.

Thanks in advance

Graham

bago100,

Found this on a website, but might be a little too expensive, but editor's choice:

Thanks for that Fozzie. I'll have a good read in an hour after the excellent sbs - Desperately seeking sheila program is over.

Does anyone own an Iriver and if so, what is the fm radio performance like?

Apparently the fm performance between different brands is quite variable as far as I can tell.

Cheers

I have a Frontier labs Nex iA MP3 player.

Features:

- Uses a removable Compactflash card so memory can be upgraded.

- Uses AA (normal or rechargeable) batteries so can be replaced 'on the go', unlike Ipod which has an internal battery and needs to be plugged into the wall socket.

- FM Radio

- Headphones with a volume and track selection control in the cord.

- Graphic Equalizer

More info at Hmmmm, 404 error. Interesting.

But can be bought at http://www.rome.com.au/ where i bought mine from about 1.25 years ago. It's still going strong and has not failed on me ever. 2 NimH batteries will last about 10 hours on half volume, which is quite loud. I rarely use FM radio on it but it works.

Actually ignore what i posted above. The player is out of stock and the parent company looks like it has shut down shop. Rome.com.au look slike it only sells that type of MP3 player. Bugger. I'm glad mine is still working, but i bet it dies now that i've said that.

Bloody technology. Here today, gone tomorrow. :)

Thanks for your attempt there Steve! :D

I'm sure your player won't break after such a humerous post.

For some strange reason, I'm still having a chuckle here.

Hope you have great weekend

Cheers

Graham
