omnibounce diffuser

Hi All,
Did a quick search and couldn't find the info I needed so here goes (mods please move this if it is in the wrong part of the forum)
Is there a Australian distributor of the omnibounce diffusers? I'd rather not just order 1 or 2 of these from overseas - it really seems like overkill, especially when you add in shipping.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Chris

Chris,
Talk to Vanbar, Ted's, Fletcher's or (in Melbourne) Michael's.
I believe they all carry stock.

Cordy, apparently buying direct from Stofen isn't all too expensive for postage and delivery's quick too - according to our resident Canon guy Petal666.

Mmm, this sounds like an interesting product. I'm often finding that the flash light isn't diffuse enough even with the wide-angle flash flip-down thingo and the diffusion dome on my SB800... I'm considering getting a
Lightsphere II, they seem to get good reviews? Either that or an omnibounce.

Lightsephere II is better than Omnibounce.

3: US$9.33
4: US$8.00
5: US$7.20
down to
10: US$5.70

MCWB,
Don't order too many, cos the limited of the amount of AU$500.00 including shipping, if over AU$500.00 you may have to pay GST.
So make it safe by order under AU$400.00 including shipping from US.

OK I've just ordered 7 X Lightsphere II for the SB800, cost is US$45.34 each. Will confirm what that works out to be in AUD once it appears on my statement.
Could people please confirm that they're in? Preference will be given in the order people posted in this thread. I guess we can then establish if another order is needed!
Edit: Damn, Scott you have a SB80DX not SB800 don't you? If so, you'll need a different one and you can hop in on the next order!

Hi MCWB,
Thanks for doing this, let the first lot go first than stick to the second order.
If you want, members can pay me and I'll give you the cash after same as shipping out to them.
For the second order, I'll fund for that once you let me know how much do I have to pass to you.

Ok, here's how it stands at the moment, please confirm if this is incorrect (i.e. you don't want one
), Scott, can you confirm about using the SB80DX rather than the SB800?
1st order (ordered): MCWB, Genji, Birddog, gstark, Joolz, tsanglabs, fozzie
2nd order: MHD (
SB80DX), BBJ, JordanP, cricketfan, robw25, Paul.
Will wait for final costs from the first one before ordering the second, should be a few days, and enough to drum up a few more people.
Update: included cricketfan, robw25 and Paul in 2nd order.

Just the one; we only have one SB800, which I get to use occasionally, when I can wrench it from leigh's grasp.
Likewise my 50 1.4 and 24 2.8.

It's apparently designed to fit over your lens.

Hmm, that would be an interesting lens filter effect.
So I presume I can stash it over an unused lens in the bag with a little bit of extra length for the rectangular component. Anyone know what the dimensions of the thing are?
In any case I might be saving myself from buying a flash bracket for the time being with this odd looking contraption, so I'll be saving some weight/space anyway.

How that can be replaced the flash bracket? Pls. tell!

My thinking is that it will allow me to minimise shadows in general & is useful in portrait orientation in that I can rotate the head towards the ceiling easily without too much penalty with the width of the light source (see the video from the Lightsphere website linked earlier). Apparently, with the dome on, one can use direct flash as well (in either orientation).
Or at least that's my understanding - correct me if I'm wrong.
BTW, I've found a good source of opinions in this thread on photo.net:
http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fet ... _id=00BsNe
(Note the image of the lightsphere in the bag).

Yes, you can do that way but in the short focal lenght lens, not with other long lens and and it's restricted.
P.S: I've just looked, the girl name Suzanne Carey shot with the 50mm on the 20D. With 50mm you don't need a flash bracket

Thanks Birddog,
Is that because the longer lenses cast a flash shadow?
I plan to use it for shortish lenses - likely 85mm is the longest.
I found another thread about it:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,13243208
And another instructional webpage:
http://www.digitalphotographers.net/LS2/
Still don't know the dimensions tho.
